Coming Home ~ Mt. Desolation

two hundred and eleven

First star, shining. Bright, against the night. Another day, ending. Another cycle, beginning. These elliptical, paths. We traverse, through life. A tangent, journey. Sphere without, end. So many years, pass. In parallel. Til now.

My life, blessed. Again. Your presence, pure. Warm, and open. Sets my heart, beating. With joy, remembered. Simple, sweet memories. Childhood, innocent. This precious, friendship. Rekindled.

The further I go I find, I just want what I left behind…

I can remember resting on the steep pitch of an old tin and rosewood post bush lean-too. Partly propped up against the neighbouring shed in back yard of the small local shop of a bush town. Just waiting for the stars, watching as the lit the river of the night sky. Then stepping off, running bare foot through the dark of the still night air. Up a hand full of steps crossing night’s fringe into the dull incandescent light So long ago now, and the lean-too now long since gone…

…but barefoot running through the night with a skyful of stars, fortunately that will exist forever! Love from a cold, wet weekend Overberg, Bx
