one hundred and ninety eight degrees: ‘a new dawn…’

Feeling Good ~ Nina Simone

one hundred and ninety eight

I wake, before. The sun, has kissed. Both earth, and sky. To give, thanks. For how, deeply. Blessed, I am.

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

~ e.e. cummings

  1. Lovely pic, poems and a great tune. 🙂 (I’ll tell you one day, why it’s a special song for me).

Catch those hidden eyes, to hear the words, the flame tree stories, listen for the crackling sounds of day, Oh tell us what it’s like to wake beneath the big oak, can you hear the wild ones call your name, Do the mysteries in the coldest darkness falter, as you sing the words to ‘Feeling good’, For a moment here to listen, in a fresh voice to a new day…
