take my hand and climb with me…

one hundred and thirty one degrees: ‘saw you lying in the road…’

Have To Drive ~ Amanda Palmer

one hundred and thirty one

Bright skies, clear blue. Swallows, dip and dive. Gates, open. Set, forth. Blue cranes, sentries stationed. To mark, the outskirts. Of the farm. On I fly, the long. Snaking stream, of stone. Til sight, snags. Two small, figures flung. Reign in, my beast. To stop. Fox cubs, bat eared. Dust chalk, marks twin. Road’s, kill. Baby, brothers. A foot, apart. Arms cradle, one. Then, the other. Still, soft. Sightless eyes, feast for ants. Fashion, a crude. Dirt highway, grave. Curled together, in endless sleep.

I mourn, this double death. Such vital, beauty. The world, lost. Without. And I, remember: Ben.

I can just imagine pushing that gate open and going off for a walk across that field. I can almost smell the fresh air

    Thanks, Blou…
Lands, as beauty slips. Through, earth fingers. Living, life gated. While, stories linger. Naked ground, open. Space, not safe. Time stops, as. Broken fresh, farewells. Together, stories pause.
