forty nine degrees: ‘and now my heart stumbles…’

Awake My Soul ~ Mumford and Sons

forty nine

Mother of mine, ninety nine. And a half, two years passed. Maternal line broken, link reverts to dust. As in life, as it must. Alone, calling for you. To drink, mourn in whiskey. Set night alight, wake to celebrate. Forget-Me-Not blue, bright eyes. Stood by, in grief. And joy. Again. Bare arms, safe harbour. Life’s great sea. You were there, for me.

Where you invest your love, you invest your life…
