take my hand and climb with me…

forty three degrees: ‘suppose I never ever let you kiss me…’

Fidelity ~ Regina Spektor

forty three

First kiss you claim, I forgot. Winter fever tree, in boots. Night, sky high.  Encore night, second kiss. Seven oaks, five flights above. In a lift. Illegal elevation, free falling. I lost my heart, to your tongue. Forked with flame and lightning. Fell through reason, shattered. Love engulfed the Universe. What if… we never, did? Never danced, never soared, never flew. Never fought, never cried, never threw. It all away, and lost. Every precious thing.

I’d be the poorer: in an ever, without our never.

Always one foot on the ground…
