take my hand and climb with me…

sixteen degrees: ‘peace and quiet and open air…’

Somewhere ~ Tom Waits

sixteen

Love manifests, full spectrum of possibility. Great love descends to set hearts aflame, only to crash like a comet, flaring once against the night sky before disappearing to its death. Loss. Devastation. You imagine your heart crippled. Til grand love materializes, unbidden. Takes your hand, bids you climb. A burning tree. Sets fire to the soles of your soul, sets you dancing. For grand love’s a curse: throws your known world to disarray, shatters fortresses carefully constructed to keep you safe. Scarred stitching ruptures, both broken hearts expanding beyond human dimension. Impossible love. Forces you from smallness and obscurity, forces you unto mutual magnificence and the soul’s true quest. Alone. Lost. Shattered. But. For whispers, little signs, fine as feathers, falling at your feet, beating against tender drums, the heart’s inner ear. Faith walks the hero’s path. Grand love is death. Endless dying. So you may be borne to eternal, throbbing life, vital and wild and free. Grand morphs to glorious.

Wait for us. There…

A strong and free piece of prose, B.. “For whispers, little signs, fine as feathers, falling at your feet, beating against tender drums, the heart’s inner ear.” Something we should all listen to at times.

Thank you Sean. A pet theme this… and indeed, the heart of our hearts holds the wisest counsel. Always. If only we are willing to listen!
